"Shambolic Tory Brexit" - Are we getting the right deal for the UK?

Jeremy Corbyn questions how Theresa May is dealing with the negotiations regarding our split with the EU.

'Brexit' has been one of the main topic of conversations in the UK and to a certain extent, throughout the whole World for the past few months. 'Brexit' itself is what the vote for Britain to withdraw from the European Union became commonly known as after the vote. The vote took place in June of this year, and at the time was ridiculed by some of the public, and was thought that the majority of the public would never vote for us to leave the EU. This was even backed up by the polls which took place prior to the vote itself, with most polls indicating about 52% of the population wanting to remain in the EU, when in the actual vote itself 51.9% voted NOT to remain in the EU. Slightly off topic, but I feel this shows the unreliability of polls quite well, as people can still be influenced by external factors, all the way to the minute that they vote. The remain campaign prior to the vote preached that to leave the EU was to enter a time of "instability" and "uncertainty", whereas that of the leave campaign was of monetary gain as we won't have to pay the EU, but they even manipulated those figures to look favourable to them. Consequently, as well as David Cameron resigning over the lost vote, the 51.9% vote to leave was quite a shock, and ever since it has been a topic of discussion, as it not only affects Britain's economic and political standing as a global power, but also the strength of our trading links with the USA and other countries.

4 months on, and Brexit is still with us. In fact, (to those who don't know,) we haven't actually left the EU yet. It takes a lot of time and preparation for something of this significance and magnitude to happen, and in this case, it's the negotiations to get "the right deal" for the UK. These negotiations include exerting greater control over migration to the UK, and whether we should still be a part of the single free market.

Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the Labour party, has recently questioned Theresa May over a "shambolic Tory Brexit" which she has dismissed. Corbyn has claimed that the government have "no answers" in regards to Brexit, but whether that's just opposition to the Conservative party, Theresa May herself or her negotiations is unclear to say.

Theresa May has claimed that she wants "maximum possible access" for the UK to the single market after we eventually leave the EU. This would ensure we can still trade without restrictions or tariffs, meaning our exports to other countries would remain about the same, at the same time meaning we don't have to place tariffs on foreign imported goods. If that were to happen, goods imported from abroad would be much more expensive, encouraging the consumption of goods made within the UK, in an attempt to protect British trade. The other major issue around Brexit was the stricter control over migration flows into the country, as the migrant crisis is a growing concern in Britain, despite only taking a fraction of those that other countries in Europe and the Middle East are taking. Theresa May has promised to be "ambitious" in this field, without saying too much regarding the negotiations themselves.

Some have suggested a second referendum regarding the stance of British negotiations, but others have argued that this might undermine the June referendum.

But that's about it to this aspect of the story for now. It could take months or years for us to ACTUALLY leave the European Union, and there will no doubts be bumps along the way. When I feel like there are significant changes in the Brexit story, I will most likely post about it again, but it shouldn't be for a while yet.
